Summary/Objective:  The Lithography Engineer will be responsible for managing manufacturing processes for photolithography related to Glass Core Technology. Specifically, this Engineer will be assigned to development and production efforts related to patterning resist and photo-imagable dielectrics on 150mm and 200mm glass wafers for advanced microelectronic packaging.
  • Fine line/space redistribution layer (RDL) patterning
  • Advanced dielectric materials for multilayer interconnect
  • Photoresist and polyimide patterning
  • Lithographic cavity definition for MEMs packaging
  • New materials and processes for tomorrow’s advanced packages
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
  1. Manages technical responsibilities for lithography module including i-line mask aligner, coat and develop track, reflectometer, and critical dimension metrology.
  2. Leads development efforts related to new photolithography materials and processes.
  3. Spearheads innovation and growth to expand photolithography capabilities and improve products.
  4. Recommends new tool purchases and materials to ensure competitiveness. Interfaces with tool manufacturers and material vendors on ongoing basis.
  5. Efficiently designs and executes experiments, analyzes data, and creates comprehensive reports; presents recommendations to engineering, operations, and management teams quarterly.
  6. Leverages statistical analysis software, e.g., JMP (custom / screening DOEs), to drive process changes to reduce scrap, decrease variability and improve critical dimensions.
  7. Directs and tracks excursion investigations from initial discovery to root cause failure analysis.
  8. Works closely with integration engineers, customers, and development engineers to execute experiments, and adjust or optimize processes.
  9. Leads lithography team as initial point of contact for yield or quality issues within module.
  10. Drives continuous improvement plan, updates work instructions, and maintains process control plans for tools, methods, and resources to improve yields.
  11. Builds positive working relationships with internal partners such as Operations, Product, Process, Test, Quality, and Failure Analysis.
  12. Establishes Cp and Cpk metrics for processes and leads decisions on rework.
  13. Provides effective pass-downs to help uninterrupted operation in the photolithography area.
  14. Works closely with defect inspection teams and mask shop to develop appropriate inspections.
  15. Analyzes SPC data to ensure robust processes.
  16. Demonstrates solid interpersonal communication skills, a professional demeanor, cooperative personality, and a team first attitude.

Required Experience:
  1. 5+ years’ experience in semiconductor fabrication related to photolithography.
  2. Experience operating and maintaining photolithography tools mask aligner and/or steppers operating at 365nm, 248nm, or 193nm.
  3. Motivated high-achiever who is persistent and conscientious.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Extensive cross functional team expertise including technical and non-technical work.
  6. Must have exceptional attention to detail.
  7. Creative mind to suggest ideas for improved processes.
  8. Good organization and follow-up skills.
  9. Experience using layout tools for mask review and tape out.
  10. Working knowledge and understanding of SDS, lock-out/tag-out, and OSHA requirements
  11. Lifting Requirements– must be able to lift up to 20 pounds regularly from floor to waist.
Required Education:
  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Science or Engineering or another technical field.
  • Experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
