POSITION TITLE:Giving Tree/Gift Wrap Assistant
REPORTS TO:Giving Tree/Gift Wrap Coordinator
STATUS: Seasonal, Full-time November 1 – December 23
PAY: $15.75/Hour
SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Giving Tree/Gift Wrap assistant helps the Giving Tree/Gift Wrap Coordinator with the daily operations at the Giving Tree and Gift Wrapping stations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, organize, and track volunteers for both programs.
- Report Giving Tree and Gift Wrapping volunteers and hours to the Volunteer Coordinator for the previous month by the beginning of the following month.
- Provide tag setup arrangements for the toy program.
- Utilize the volunteer programs as requested by The Salvation Army DHQ/THQ.
- Assist with space clean-up at the end of the season.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a challenging environment and maintain poise under pressure
- Ability and willingness to keep information confidential
- Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including the ability to pass a TSA background check
- Reliable transportation.
SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:
- Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheet
- Microsoft Outlook experience
- Wellsky
- Square Terminal
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to operate telephone
- Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to sweep, mop, and vacuum floors on a daily basis.
