GIS Specialist III

***This position requires the ability to obtain a USAccess clearance.***

The GIS Specialist III will provide essential support for its program objectives. This position focuses on stakeholder engagement, web interface development, task coordination, and database management.

Pay commensurate with experience.

GIS Specialist III Responsibilities Include: 

  • Conducts meetings with local, state, and federal agency leads, both in-person and virtually, to assess and implement their needs into applications.
  • Leads the development and management of databases and applications to optimize storage, visualization, and public dissemination of scientific data.
  • Develops new website content, including additional modules for existing web applications, new pages for static HTML websites, creation of standalone web products, content editing, and maintenance of existing web products.
  • Tests and deploys new features to the public webserver, ensuring they are fully operational.
  • Designs, coordinates, and conducts in-person and virtual training for end users of web applications and databases. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

 

GIS Specialist III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience in web application design using Esri's Experience Builder and ArcGIS Hub application development tools.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and custom developers to gather and implement requirements for web mapping applications.
  • Skill in the application of Agile methodologies and the software development life cycle.
  • Academic coursework involving programming languages, tools, and operating systems relevant to web development.
  • Proficiency with oral and written communication.
  • Ability to obtain a USAccess clearance.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
