Job Summary
As the GIS Software and Data Support Specialist, you will provide GIS Software and Data administration for MNIT serving MnDOT. The GIS Software and Data Support Specialistwill lead efforts to provide GIS Software and licenses to the MnDOT agency. In t his position, you will provide technical support in the packaging and provisioning of GIS and related software, including the general Enterprise Agreement tasks with the major GIS vendor to ensure the right software is available to the various office needs. You will manage and document the departmental GIS databases as used in a warehouse environment and shared with the other agencies of the state via MnGEO and the Geocommons. The data and software scope include ArcGIS Online, Portal, Cloud, and on Prem Software and Data stores.
This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:
  • Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.
  • Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:
Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in GIS development and support.
Experience must include:
  • Experience withthe SQL Language, Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL environment.
  • Experience with ESRI's ArcGIS desktop tools (ArcMap, Arc Catalog) at the 10.x level, and ArcPRO 2.x and higher.
  • Experiencewith ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Portal administration.

A Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR a related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR a related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years' experience with ESRI ArcGIS Server environment at the 10.x or above level.
  • Experience with Oracle 19, Oracle PL/SQL, and above versions.
  • Experience with Microsoft 2019 (or above) Server Administration.
  • Experience programming in Python (3), Microsoft PowerShell, and supporting tool GITHUB.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of network and Data infrastructure environments and their relationships to application management.
  • Experience with MN GIS Metadata creation and propagation.

This position is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. This position will require the employee to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies.
