Back to all Jobs GIS Intern - IT Closes On: March 29, 2024 at 11:59 PM CST Department: Information Technologies Job Status: Full-Time Details: Please include resume and cover letter at time of application Apply Now Advertisement Position Announcement Full-Time GIS Intern Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Position Summary The McLean County GIS team is responsible for spatial data management, visualization, and analysis in support of the Information Technologies and various departments' map, database, and information needs. The GIS Intern will play a critical role, directly supporting our GIS Coordinator and GIS Specialist through data gathering, map generation, database management, and spatial analysis. The GIS Intern can expect to gain applied mapping and data management skills, exposure to ArcGIS Online, and an understanding of public sector GIS management.
Responsibilities and Duties Working alongside GIS team to support various projects with spatial data editing and cartographic design Creating geo-centric deliverables for internal and public operations Building and maintaining highly accurate data tables Gathering data to enhance existing maps or create new ones Supporting other operations as needed Minimum Qualifications Completed at least one university level class in GIS University level classes in geography, computer science, or a related field Strong attention to detail and quality Experience with Esri products, ArcGIS Pro 2.8+, and ArcGIS Online Experience manipulating spatial data, including digitizing, spatial joins, and attribute joins Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/basic graphic design (preferred) Please include an example map or link with your application materials.
