Job Summary
This position is under general supervision of the GIS Coordinator is responsible primarily for assisting in strategic research and administration of a comprehensive master planning program for the Port of Corpus Christi (PCCA).

Minimum Qualifications:
This is an internship position. Candidates shall be enrolled in an accredited college or university with a major in GIS, computer science or related fields; demonstrated written and oral proficiency in the English language; proficiency in Spanish preferred. Strong writing, editing and graphic communication skills, organizational and time management skills; ability to operate a personal computer and a variety of programs, office equipment, and internet. Must deal effectively with the public and varying levels of management.

Job Summary

- Aids in researching to add to the PCCA Master Plan, including but not limited to strategic planning, land use planning, rail, GIS and coastal area planning.
- Helps support efforts to identify, develops and communicates short- and long-range goals and objectives, developing and implementing all components of the PCCA master plan
- Works closely with Environmental Planning & Compliance and coordinates with multiple departments to study planning requirements and ensure timely implementation
- Prepares correspondence, detailed analytical documents, staff reports, and technical documents to communicate program activities, analyze, describe, and present various planning and/or development related subjects, and recommends alternatives
- Provides assistance for the collection of data, establishment of databases, and assessment of policy options that facilitate community decision-making with regard to performance of adopted or contemplated plans and policies; prepares information using a variety of data sources to assess community issues and trends; and to monitor the implementation progress on the comprehensive plan.

- Adheres to Port Policy and maintains good employee relations.
