Gis Developer

Alderson Loop is looking for a GIS Developer to join a project with a large power & utilities company. This individual will need to have strong functional knowledge and background in Esri Geospatial Platform. They will work to drive the strategy and develop standards for a scalable Enterprise GIS Platform to enable end-to-end geospatial workflows and content distribution across multiple business units. This position develops and maintains high-level designs for overall logical and technical IT architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Works with business partners to analyze strategy, spatial requirements, and trends to define the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions
• Communicates and enforces technology standards with business partners
• Drives digital innovation and develops roadmaps through new technologies and approaches to fulfill strategic business plans
• Defines high-level migration plans to address gaps in current state
• Coaches, mentors, and leads technical subject matters experts to enable and drive consistency across technology architectures
• Designs and owns governance, assurance, and standards activities for enterprise technology architecture compliance
• Oversees and facilitates the evaluation, risk assessment, selection, and design of hardware and software technology and product standards
• Delivers technology architecture artifacts, possibly including reference architectures or concepts of operation
• Installs, administers, configures, troubleshoots and optimizes Enterprise GIS Solutions
• Oversees the translation of design into deliverables via implementation and deployment

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a GIS Developer with a strong understanding of GIS best practices and functionality
• 2+ years of experience with Esri Platform cloud deployments
• Hands-on implementation experience in AWS for Esri Solutions
• Familiarity with designing/supporting Enterprise Imagery Services and Analytics best practices
• Business, Application and Data Architecture experience
• Experience defining roadmaps and standards
• Experience designing solutions that include business innovation and transformation, improved process workflows, and UI/UX
• Ability to decompose a business request into meaningful capabilities and processes
• Adept at creative solution development, drive to innovate and automate
• Previous experience working in an agile, fast-paced, dynamic project environments
• Hands-on experience with application development, system configuration, and support.
• Any applicable AWS Certifications are preferred
• Any Kubernetes or Docker Certifications are preferred
