This is a technical position responsible for assisting in the ongoing performance of the City's land management and infrastructure databases, as well as other technological functions of the Planning Division, such as Geographical Information Systems mapping and analyses, concurrency management, and website management. Work is under the direct management of the Community Development Department Director, and the incumbent is responsible for providing technical and informational support to the Community Development staff.
Assist Management of the LM Database includes but is not limited to: Verification of each land parcel number to ensure the correct land use, acreage, square footage, and a legal description.
Accountable for reconciling old, new, and changed land management records from all City and County sources, including, but not limited to: Building Permits, Zoning, Business Licensing, Special Assessment, Annexation, Mapping and other contributing sources.
Provides technical research, prepares documentation, and implements record keeping for land management database records.
Provides maps and analyses related to the City's Geographical Information System (GIS), including all maps and analyses for current and long-range planning reports and studies.
Assists in management of the City's Concurrency Management System, including but not limited to creation, maintenance, modifications, and research related to concurrency tracking and development impacts. Reviews public/private development proposals for concurrency and provides data analyses to the Planning staff in accordance with City codes, ordinances, and adopted plans.
Assists in staff management and regular updates for the City's website as it relates to the Community Development Department.
Performs related work as required. Will and ability to learn new techniques and develop new skills.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including the characteristics and operation of networking, database management, spreadsheets, graphics, word processing, electronic mail, communications, and scheduling.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures for government regulations, planning, and decision-making.
- Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems, Arc View software, and other related mapping database programs and software.
- Knowledge of Florida growth management laws, particularly as is relates to concurrency management preferred.
- Knowledge of website development and management techniques.
- Knowledge of transportation planning, concurrency, and modeling preffered.
DURING OCCASIONS OF LOCAL EMERGENCIES THIS POSIITON MAY BE REQUIRED TO REPORT TO PERFORM EMERGENCY TASKS, WHICH MAY RESULT IN EXTENDED WORK HOURS AS WELL AS EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME AWAY FROM FAMILY MEMBERS.
