Job Description
- Work independently and as part of a project team to provide GIS support to the Transmission Line Maintenance department.
- Takes initiative to improve electric transmission facility data accuracy and offer mobile data solutions based on stakeholder input.
- Aggregate GIS datasets from multiple sources and load them into enterprise geodatabases on a regular basis.
- Applies cartographic standards to prepare maps and exhibits using GIS datasets.
- Employs GIS standards to maintain GIS database and project organization structures.
- Train/troubleshoot with end-users of desktop/mobile GIS Applications
Required Experience
- 4 - 6 years' experience working with ESRI 10.x and ArcPro software applications and extensions
- Previous experience with GIS support of electric utility
- Bachelor's degree, or associate is required.
- GIS Certificate is preferred.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
Required Skills
- Experience working in a versioned GIS environment and handling spatial data from various sources.
- experience with ArcGIS Online and ESRI field applications (Field Maps, Survey123, Quick Capture)
- experience with ESRI Desktop ArcGIS Software (Desktop and Pro),
- Experience with extract/transform/load (ETL) solutions in GIS
- Prior experience with ESRI's Utility Network & Geometric Network a plus
- Knowledge of shapefiles, enterprise & file geodatabases
- Knowledge of data projections and how to manipulate.
- Demonstrated understanding of advanced GIS concepts and methodologies such as drawing scale, spatial databases, spatial projections and coordinate systems, text and annotation placement, layer control, etc.
- Demonstration of understanding of cartographic methods
- Attention to detail, organized, customer focused.
- Able to work in a team as well as self-start.
- Ability to coordinate with field personnel for data collection with mobile GIS applications.
- Ability to work effectively on tight deadlines when necessary.
- Ability to track and report project progress for timesheet and budget reporting.
- Some field work may be required, accompany project teams to transmission line rights-of-way to collect GPS locations.
