Position Summary
The GIS Analyst will work with the Integrity Management team to assist customers in conducting high consequence area (HCA) identifications, risk assessments, class location analysis, underwater inspections, NPMS/RRC submittals, as well as other spatial analysis projects. RCP GIS and mapping services include Pipeline & Instrument Drawings, Survey Interpretation, Cartography & Custom Mapping, Land Mapping, Aerial Photography and Presentation Materials. The position will include activities such as:
- Process data, perform analyses, and prepare complex maps and reports
- Interact directly with clients both as an individual contributor and team member to successfully complete quality work
- Research, compile, and review spatial data
- Perform overland spill analyses and air dispersion modeling
- Document project workflows, data sources, and data limitations
- Assist in the development of GIS workflows, databases, and map products
- Leverage and maintain GIS databases
- Aid in the development of automated processes and tools
- Perform NPMS/RRC submittals
To be successful in this position, the GIS Analyst should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Engineering, or related technical degree
- 3-5 years of GIS experience
- Experience with ESRI software, including ArcGIS
- Experience working with GIS databases
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- GIS experience working with pipelines or other linear assets
- Enthusiastic about sharing the value GIS can bring to projects
- Willingness to perform duties outside of the basic job description and quickly expand skillset into new areas
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
- Passion to stay informed of GIS software trends and best practices
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office or similar products
- Knowledge of relational databases and concepts (SQL Server, Oracle)
- Knowledge of geoprocessing tools using ESRI built-in tools
