General Description:
The G&I PlantOperator II supports internal and external client needs by performing manual job requirements as well as training and managing staff, maintaining equipment, and manifesting waste materials.

This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. CCI Industrial Services leads the industry in Safety, Innovation, and Excellence. CCI's mission is to provide quality-driven, cost-effective construction, maintenance, industrial cleaning, power generation, and transportation services to support resource development companies.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Handle waster receiving, grinding, injection processes.
  • Execute tasks with precision and consistency.
  • Assist in operations, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Support operational staff daily task.
  • Adherence to Slurry QA/QC requirements:
  • Batch testing for particle size, density, rheology
  • Monitoring and maintaining appropriate injection rates
  • Must understand and acknowledge the policies of “NGI-OPPRO-000001\_Rev A – Waste Injection Policy.docx” to be provided on successful onboarding.

  • Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
  • Maintain compliance with required HSE Training.
  • Ensure all work conducted in his / her area is properly permitted.
  • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
  • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
  • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives. The G&I Plant Operator has STOP work authority.
  • Participating in safety meetings, work safely, and maintain a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
  • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.

  • Communicate daily status of current projects to the Lead Operator as necessary to ensure all projects are timely and within company and client standards.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, exercises, and drills.
  • Safely maintains equipment by inspecting / monitoring equipment and maintaining operation / technical standards and/or governmental requirements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to monitor operations with minimal guidance. Ability to watch gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure equipment is working correctly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain systems and equipment.
  • Ensures that containment countermeasures are in place to mitigate fluid leaks and spills while conducting fluid transfers.
  • Maintains general knowledge of work site locations, equipment, and permitting.
  • Receives, inventories, and catalogs waste material according to according to established procedures as well as State / Federal Laws and Alaska Waste & Reuse Guide (Redbook) requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for G&I Operations.
  • Ensures employees are wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide employees with PPE.
  • Perform pre and post job equipment inspections, complete preventative maintenance procedures and operate equipment as per customer's standards.
  • Ensuring any potential hazardous material has been identified prior to starting operations. This includes inspecting piping for Asbestos Containing Material (ACM), naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) scale, concentrations of benzene, materials contaminated with chemicals that have a low LEL and materials possibly contaminated with lead-based coatings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure work-site security and demarcation requirements.
  • Planning logistical support for loader, super sucker, vacuum truck, and other day-to-day logistical requirements.
  • Inspects meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations which includes monitoring for LEL's, H2S, benzine, and other hazardous gases.
  • Tests accuracy of pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, or other indicating, or controlling instruments to detect defective components in G&I systems.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization standards.
  • Safely operate and park equipment. Ground Guide heavy equipment and tractor trailer systems into the facility for waste disposal.
  • Removes defective instruments from power washing system. Decontaminates, disassembles, cleans instruments, and replaces defective parts.
  • Lubricates instruments and replaces defective equipment components as needed.
  • Applies Safety in difficult and complex situations. Ability to recognize safety risks in operational activities and use appropriate measures to control mange identified risk.
  • Determine root cause of mechanical issues and failures. Ensure completion of repairs.
  • Emergency Response Trained.
  • Promote safe work practices by following company and client safety policies.
  • Complete all applicable record keeping and documentation for the client as well as state & federal governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Gain knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations as required.
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools to complete job requirements.
  • Operate and/or supervise the operation of vehicles to include pickups, 12-foot flatbed, and box van trucks (F550), small mobile trailers and other equipment in adverse weather and road conditions.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures. Accept accountability for safe work practices.
  • Participate in START card, Tool Box Talk (TBT), pre and post project meetings. Perform shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
  • Will ensure work scopes are fully defined and proper resources and materials are in place to accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrate support of company and client environmental management system.
  • Participate in the CCI active list for spill responders.
  • Coach and train CCI crew members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to clearly speak, write, read and understand the English language.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of calibration procedures, calibration equipment, and equipment testing.
  • Knowledge of hand-held power tools and power washing equipment.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to follow CCI Industrial Services, client safety programs, and regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
  • Ability to prepare reports and correspondence as required including manifesting waste materials for disposal.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing demands simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport and strong working relationship with co-workers and client representatives.
  • Ability to relate to and work with personnel at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current BOP Certification
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in G&I waste operations or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • NSTC Certification is required.
  • 24 Hour Hazwoper
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Alaska Waste and Reuse Guide (Redbook) Trained (Company may provide).
  • Knowledge and understanding of waste manifesting, transporting, and disposal.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Requirements:Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Oil & Gas Facility Operations with knowledge of production systems and equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Grind and Injection Facilities and equipment is preferred.
  • Drilling experience around mud tanks and mud pump systems will be considered.
  • Well experience in Cementing, Fracking, High Pressure Pumping will be considered.
  • Mine Processing equipment experience with rocker crusher, ball mills, rod mills, slurry pumps will be considered.
  • 2 years Loader Operator Experience is preferred.
  • Mud Lab Tech or Mud Training Certification
  • Maintenance planning background a plus
  • FCO of facility a plus.
  • Management of change process a plus.

Physical Requirements:

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard.   • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
