The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2023-24 school year: Goshen High SchoolWelcome Center Receptionist 2 POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of the Welcome Center Receptionist is to provide customer service to all students, staff, parents, and visitors that come through the door or call the Welcome Center. This person promotes GHS to the community through a positive and proactive attitude. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in answering school phones during non-arrival/dismissal or lunch periodsAssist in monitoring the commons area during student arrival/dismissal and lunchesAssist with general office support such as stuffing envelopes, folding materials, or typing routine correspondence such as morning announcementsDirect all visitors and guests to the appropriate office or location within the buildingMonitor and track all students signing in and out of the building during the academic dayMonitor school radio at all timesNotify the SRO and or office staff or any possible threats, potentially threatening visitors or situations which may become violentProfessionally greet all visitors and guests and make sure they have signed in and have a visitor badgeSign for packages and deliveries when appropriateUse Skyward to locate students and teachers when necessaryWelcome and ensure that ALL visitors have signed in and are wearing a visitor's badgeAll other duties as assigned by the principal or his/her designee REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GEDBilingual preferred QUALIFICATIONS: Ability and willingness to learn the Skyward database softwareAbility to get along with students and help professionally manage their behaviorAbility to get along with the staffAbility to welcome all visitors and assist them with needsBasic office skillsBasic phone etiquette and computer skillsCalm demeanor in stressful situationsPleasant with publicProfessional demeanor with all students and staffStrong communication skills WORK CALENDAR: Extended School Year - 214 days per year, 3 weeks before school starts and 2 weeks after school ends; 40 hours per week; 7:30-4:00 SALARY: $17.00-$17.75, rate is dependent upon education and/or experience.
