German to/from English Translatorand Editor – Contract - Part-time (Remote)

We are seeking experienced linguists with United States citizenship to perform translation and editing from English into German and German into English.

German Translators and Editorswho are skilled in performing translations that are accurate and that meet deadlines prescribed by clients. Must be proficient in formatting documents to ensure that translated products mirror the source document format.

Minimum Qualifications include the following:

1. Must have full United States citizenship.
2. Bachelor's degree in relevant field; ATA or other professional certs a plus.
3. Native-level German and near native English reading/writing/speaking/listening proficiency as well as native-level English proficiency skills - 4+ ILR scale in English and German.
4. A minimum of five years performing professional translations for clients; with experience in legal, military documents and academic transcripts.
5. Excellent formatting skills to handle US birth and marriage certificates.
6. Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other translators/editors.
7. Knowledge of legal, military and academic complex technical terminology.
8. Ability to choose correct words when going from English into German and vice versa.
9. Comfortable with 1–2-day deadlines upon request.
