Job description

Hire Resolve's client is a leading Geotechnical Engineering firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Geotechnical Engineer in Charleston, South Carolina. The perfect candidate will have experience in the Civil Engineering industry and focus on the technical design and analysis of site and building foundations. The successful candidate will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and will work on exciting new projects to advance his or her career. Responsibilities

  • Planning field programs, conducting technical briefings with field staff, and project management tasks including budgeting and client communications
  • You will also be responsible for performing engineering analyses and preparing technical reports, as well as conducting regular site visits, overseeing field explorations and construction observations
  • As a project manager, you will be responsible for mentoring and overseeing the work of junior staff
  • Lead or coordinate the development and implementation of field exploration programs and construction observation projects
  • Ensure that work performed is consistent with project plans and specifications as well as in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Assist with training junior technical and technician staff
  • Complete engineering analyses and calculations
  • Develop moderately complex conceptual models
  • Complete moderately complex spatial analyses
  • Lead the generation of technical reports including completion of routine reports, figures, tables, etc.; Assist senior staff in completing portions of large, complex reports, figures, tables, etc
  • Support project management tasks such as budget planning, general field report reviews, and proposal development
  • Manage small projects under the supervision of a certified professional engineer or geologist as required
  • Ability to travel for short-term and long-term assignments as needed
  • All employees are responsible for conducting their work in a safe manner
  • This includes identifying potential safety hazards and reporting them to the designated project manager in a timely manner and participating in project safety briefings
