Geospatial FME Developer - Houston, TX
Join a leading IT consulting company in Houston as a Geospatial FME Developer for a compelling 12+ month opportunity in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and supporting FME application solutions, following best practices of information systems. Your expertise in geospatial data manipulation and ArcGIS will be crucial in this position. You will collaborate with the Geospatial Services team to ensure business requirements are met with FME integrations and our geospatial software. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining data quality and accuracy, as well as implementing standard methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain customized FME workflows based on project or business requirements.
- Support FME workbenches and FME Server application.
- Develop and customize geospatial solutions using FME and Python.
- Design and manage spatial datasets for efficient use by supported users.
- Collaborate with business analysts and business areas to meet their spatial data needs.
- Support and document data management processes and procedures related to spatial data.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and accuracy of data in a timely manner.
- Configure and optimize data for efficient use by users.
- Integrate data workflows between GIS Systems and Snowflake.
- Support ArcGIS tools and platforms.
- Communicate application issues and downtime to Business Analysts and customers.
- Provide support and consultation on Geospatial projects, including prioritizing tasks and ensuring requirements are met.
- Convert legacy applications in ArcGIS Enterprise environment.
- Create and maintain application knowledge center articles.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years equivalent work experience in GIS applications.
- 5+ years of experience working with Geospatial data/applications.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS.
- 5+ years of experience in FME development and support.
- Familiarity with merging internal and external data sources.
Preferred:
- Experience managing geospatial projects from development to support.
- ArcGIS customization using ArcObjects and Python.
- 5+ years of experience in ArcGIS support.
- Strong understanding of geographic information systems and spatial data.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, and Oracle database.
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Web App Builder/Experience Builder.
- Understanding of Coordinate Reference Systems and Transformations.
- Solid understanding of data conversion and translations.
- Knowledge of database principles.
- Proficiency in FME, ArcGIS/ArcPro suite of applications, ArcSDE, SQL, Python, and Snowflake.
- Ability to maintain the integrity of spatial datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills in resolving spatial data-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with customers, business analysts, data analysts, and technical assistants within business units.
- Strong understanding of SQL (SQL Server and Oracle).
