Martin Marietta’s Internship Program allows college students to learn our industry, with hands on training, right where the action takes place. You’ll work alongside some of the best in the aggregate business. In addition to learning technical skills, you’ll gain project management experience and receive personal coaching from some of the best leaders in the industry.

- Project Management
- Sort out cores and send to company lab
- Relog to modern standards
- Summarize testing results
- Organize and scan exploration data
- Attempt to identify rock units and thickness in core logs
- Obtain location and elevation of drill holes and input data into spreadsheet
- • Introduction to aggregate mining operations
- Tours of Iowa limestone quarries/mines and sand & gravel operations
- Gain knowledge of the mining industry related to aggregate mining
- Quality Control process
- Gradation sampling
- Customer site visit
- Gradation data and report analysis
- Safety program
- Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) New Miner training
- Exposure to a World Class safety program
- Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate Geology degree
- Has already completed coursework in sedimentology and stratigraphy
