Job Description:

Mutch Associates is seeking an entry-level Geologist/Hydrogeologist to join its Hawthorne, New York office working on multidisciplinary environmental engineering/science projects pertaining to studies of the migration and behavior of chemicals in the environment, characterization of hydrogeologic systems, and the extent of contamination in those systems. The position entails field work including environmental sampling of groundwater, surface water, soil, and sediments. Additional field tasks include aquifer testing, in-situ soil and groundwater pilot-scale treatment studies, and implementation of full-scale in situ treatment systems.

Office tasks associated with the position include but are not limited to data entry synthesis and analysis (graphical and statistical), map generation, and assisting in the preparation of technical reports and memoranda.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Required Skills/Experience:

• B.S. degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or other related discipline
• 1-3 years of professional services consulting experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in MS Office software
• Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the U.S.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation to travel to job sites and the office.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• M.S. degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or other related discipline
• Experience with statistical/data analysis software such as R, GIS, Power BI is a plus
• Experience with groundwater modeling software (e.g., Visual MODFLOW, GMS, Groundwater Vistas) and aquifer testing software (e.g., AQTESOLV) is a plus
• OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred.
