Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Geologist/Hydrogeologist III to be based in Waterloo, IA. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Continue and strengthen client relationships in Iowa within the Environmental, Surface Transportation and Water Business Lines, specific to public sector and landfill clients.
  • Develops and maintains exceptional customer relations.
  • Regularly attends client sponsored events and meetings serving as an ambassador for AECOM.
  • Perform data analysis and data visualization using GIS and CADD.
  • Analyze, interpret, and manage environmental data.
  • Perform geologic and hydrogeologic research.
  • Collaborate with other scientific and engineering professionals within the practice.
  • Prepare technical reports and permits.
  • Occasionally perform and document field data collection activities including conducting multi-media sampling, overseeing advancement borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, managing subcontractors, and overseeing soil excavation projects.
  • Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams.
  • Performs a variety of design tasks in support of the engineering, survey and construction staff.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree in Geology or Related Field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a MVR

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe and Bluebeam
  • Ability to proactively communicate with project teams’ leadership and department staff
  • Knowledge of groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling software, three-dimensional visualization software, database software, statistical software, and programming languages is preferred.

Additional Information

Offered rate of compensation in Iowa will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $80,000.
