Job Description:
PB&A Inc. has an immediate opening for a GEO-STRUCTURAL ENGINEER. Preference will be given to candidates based in San Diego or the San Francisco Bay Area, but all candidates will be considered. The successful candidate will support a range of tasks related to the investigation, analysis, and design of geo- structures. Reporting direct to the principal or the lead project engineer, the candidate will have the opportunity to continue their professional development and gain hands-on experience. Job Responsibilities:
- Support team in the preparation of engineering calculations, some drafting and documentation with focus on:
- Performing and reviewing engineering calculations
- Conducting design tasks and analysis, as needed
- Creating buildable and economical construction documents
- Provide project management support to include budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
- Support team in the review and response to RFI’s.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with an emphasis on foundations engineering.
- California FE and PE license preferred. Ability to obtain license within one year considered.
- Possess an excellent understanding and knowledge of Structural/geotechnical Engineering with a strong background in Soil Mechanics.
- Experience in the design and evaluation of earth retention systems (SOE) and / or geo-structures, including, shoring, underpinning, deep foundation, micro piles, CIDH and others.
- Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as RISA 3D, DeepEx, SAP and LPile. Additional experience in Finite Element software such as Plaxis.
- Working knowledge of AUTOCAD and Revit is required.
- Proficiency in writing reports, proposals, and business correspondence clearly and with good grammar.
- Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey engineering concepts and collaborate with team members.
- Capability to read, analyze, and interpret RFI’s, technical procedures, and codes.
- Ability to work successfully in a hybrid / remote work environment; able to come into the San Diego offices as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
· Salary Range: $80,000 - 130,000 per year dependent upon candidate qualifications and experience
