Diversity & Inclusion is a core Value for Tenaya Therapeutics, and we encourage those from under-represented communities to apply.RequirementsResponsibilities:Developing deep-learning based models to investigate disease-specific biological networks, with the goal of identifying new drug targets and deciphering mechanism of action of currently studied compounds Developing machine learning models to investigate functional implications of in-vitro and in-vivo perturbations Data visualization and interpretation of biological findings Presenting research findings to the team in weekly and monthly meetingsQualifications: Currently pursuing B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, statistics, or related quantitative fields. Eager to gain experience in early-stage drug discovery to learn about the role of systems biology, biological networks, and human genetics in drug target discovery. Proficient in programming (R and/or Python) Strong interest and experience in machine learning and deep learning Statistical and problem-solving skills Scientific curiosity and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team-oriented environment Strong communication skills and ability to present the research findings to the teamAdditional team members that the intern may collaborate with and/or opportunities for the intern to shadow/learn from other functions: The intern will have the opportunity to engage with members of the human genetics and genome informatics teams.This is a full-time, 12-week summer internship onsite at our South San Francisco headquarters.
