Job description

Summary Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

Responsibilities Presents and proposes storage areas to ensure most effective use of space. Conforms with policies and directives to achieve increased effectiveness and statistical accuracy to effectively express information in oral or written presentations of findings. Monitors storage improvement programs from inception to completion to include coordination with fire-prevention inspectors, safety personnel, pollution abatement authorities, facilities engineers, etc.

Works closely with all personnel performing plant to plant transfers, ensuring systematic records are completed, to include creation and confirmation of transfer orders systematically generated. Verifies and validates that material characteristics match all paperwork received with the shipment, identifying any discrepancies prior to taking any receiving actions. Ensures all materials requiring systematic receipts are properly processed in the system within measured standard.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing and promoting improvements in policies, plans, methods, procedures, systems, or techniques in the overall supply program; 2) applying analytical and evaluative techniques to recommend improvements in organizational supply procedures; 3) collaborating with IT staff to develop automated data-processing programs and develop policy and guidance for their implementation; 4) reviewing workload data and operational processing to evaluate the validity, reliability, and practicability of work methods and standards; 5) studying internal and external reporting and applicable directives to ascertain accuracy and conformance with reporting procedures.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). -OR- GS-11 Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Supply Chain, or Economics.

(Transcripts Required for Credit) -OR- GS-11 Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.

Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Problem Solving Research Supply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement.

In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S.
