The world has changed. Why hasn't insurance?
Kin's mission is to reimagine home insurance For Every New Normal. While other insurers struggle to handle a fast-changing world, Kin is built for the future and is prepared to meet its challenges head on while helping our customers do the same.
Kin is proud to be one of BuiltIn Chicago's 2021 and 2022 Best Mid Sized Companies to work for, and Forbes 2021 Best Startup Employers in North America. Simply put, our people are what make us great, and we need forward-thinking, inspired game-changers like you to join us in our mission.
So, what's the role?
As the General Manager of our Agency division, you will be accountable and responsible for the success of this business unit across three critical dimensions: growth, unit economics and profitability. The Agency division, which exclusively writes personal line policies, is a strategic focus for us in 2024. You will be responsible for building a business unit and taking it to the next level in terms of growth, process improvement and innovation.
In this newly-created role, you have the opportunity to lead a team, while hiring new employees in each department as we continue to grow. You will directly manage Agency Sales, Agency Support and Carrier Relations. Success in this role will also require ongoing and project-based cross-functional work with nearly every support function, including Marketing, Revenue Operations, Tech, Compliance, Finance, etc. This role reports into the Chief Operating Officer.
In this role, you are a "leader" and a "doer", someone who can balance forward-thinking strategy while simultaneously partnering with your team (and nearly every other department at Kin) to execute the plan. You are highly analytical and self-motivated with experience solving complex problems. You'll be able to analyze business issues and drive actions based on what you learn from the data. You are excited about the idea of leading and being accountable for one of the fastest growing business units in 2024.

- Work cross-functionally with leaders in nearly every department to support the growth, efficiency and profitability of the division

I've got the skills... but do I have the necessary ones?
- 8+ years of managing an insurance agency with a track record of exceeding targets
