General Manager

We are looking for an experienced General Manager for a new family restaurant in Racine. Pesto’s Italian Café is a home style family restaurant set to open its doors in the coming weeks. It will serve scratch made breakfast, lunch, pastas, pizza & more. It will be open everyday with extended dinner hours Thursday-Saturday. Duties include:

- Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient and effective performance

- Manage and motivate a team of employees, providing guidance and support

- Create and implement strategies to drive sales and achieve targets

- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability

- Maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment

- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a professional manner

- Conduct interviews and hire new team members

- Train and develop staff on product knowledge, customer service, and company policies

- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures

- Manage cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in cash register transactions

- Utilize POS system to process sales

transactions

Experience requirements:

- Previous experience in restaurant management required

- Knowledge of the type of food that will be served is a plus

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience in shift management and scheduling

- Proficient in using POS systems for sales transactions

- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
