Job description

· Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the candidate will be provided both on-the-job training and classroom instruction, allowing the candidate to successfully execute all company Operations and Maintenance (O&M) plans, policies and procedures that are consistent with current PANYNJ procedures and best industry practice

· Ability to learn and perform all essential summer and winter O&M activities

· Participate in daily Goethals bridge patrols and identify and report on items such as unsafe conditions, asset deterioration, graffiti, debris removal, electrical / mechanical issues on the bridge

· Ability to learn and execute assigned preventive and corrective action work tasks

· Availability to work 24/7 to fulfill the requirements of the Company

· Ability to learn how to respond to traffic incidents providing necessary incident and traffic protections to the travelling public

· Ability to learn and execute all operational and maintenance tasks associated with critical transportation infrastructure, such as, but not limited to: landscaping, vegetation control, drainage cleaning/repair, lighting repair, building maintenance, equipment maintenance, asset inspections, incident response, snow removal, electrical/mechanical inspections and repairs, graffiti removal, debris removal, preventive maintenance work, etc.

· Ability to learn and execute the effective use of the company’s Maintenance Personagement System (MMS) and ensure compliance with the contract requirements by recording daily activities in the MMS

· Ability to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of all Company O&M equipment

· Ability to maintain and update asset inspection and maintenance records and information requirements regarding the O&M activities and deliverables

· Ability to understand and satisfy various stakeholder needs related to O&M activities

· Ability to work safely to eliminate work place injuries and patron safety risks

· Ability to identify O&M issues throughout the Project and work to eliminate non-conformances

· 1-year minimum satisfactory experience/exposure within the last 5 years installing, maintaining or repairing mechanical or electrical equipment or performing structural repairs; and/or

· 1-year minimum in semi-construction within the last 5 years with basic knowledge of either HVAC, electrical, plumbing or mechanical systems; and/or

· 1-year minimum satisfactory experience/exposure within the last 5 years operating and/or repairing heavy equipment; and/or

· graduation from a trade school or technical school, with a major course of study in electrical, mechanical, automotive, welding, carpentry, machinist work, or a closely-related field, totaling 600 hours

· Interstate Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake endorsement valid in the State of New Jersey. CDL must be maintained for the duration of employment. Reference the following websites for further information on obtaining a CDL and medical clearance:

· Ability to work various shifts, overtime and be on-call during incident or emergency responses

· Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and repair

· Ability to multitask, work and deliver under pressure

· Ability to understand and be understood in English

· Possess a collaborative working style

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screening in order to be appointed

· Selected candidate must attain Secure Workers Access Consortium (SWAC) to maintain employment

· Proof of Identity: Under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, must be able to prove your identity and your right to obtain employment in the United States prior to employment with NYNJ Link.
