General Laborer

Description:Snyder Industries, Inc., has an opening for a Full Time General Laborer. An industry leader with over 50 years of experience, we specialize in providing high quality components for the heavy equipment industry utilizing our updated mills, lathes, gear, and heat treating/induction machinery.

Position Summary:
The General Laborer assists in all areas of the shop including janitorial responsibilities and light maintenance on machines. This position is Full-Time day shift 6-230p.m. Monday through Friday.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performing a variety of tasks involving manual labor
• Changing filters throughout the shop.
• Cleaning chips out of machines and cooling tanks.
• Assisting Maintenance Technicians as needed.
• Clean in and around machines, wiping down machines.
• Emptying garbage throughout shop.
• Cleaning and stocking bathrooms.
• Vacuuming and sweeping when needed.
• Painting
• Landscaping
• Operating Forklift and Scissor Lift as needed.
• Ensuring that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Additional tasks may designated by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
• Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used preferred.
• Some knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
