Job Description: Foundry Worker / Labor

Title: Foundry Worker / Labor

Job Summary: Perform various tasks to include making sand molds, operating PM, pouring aluminum into molds, shaking out molds, moving sand, making cores, finishing castings and other foundry tasks. Below is a representation of what is expected of a foundry worker.

Job Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Help build sand molds by compacting sand into metal boxes over tooling.

Ability to compact sand molds and place cores in molds.

Demold castings (shake out) aluminum castings from sand molds.

Possess or ability to learn sand molding or permanent mold processes.

Possessor ability to learncasting cleaning / finishing of aluminum castings by operating band saws and grinders / sanders.

Possess ability to make sand cores or learn core making process

Ability to follow process plans and communicate process issues

Ability to see problems / determine defects and communicate any issues

Follow oral and written instructions and or directions given by supervisor to complete assigned work projects.

Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems.

Work as a team within department and with other departments and leads

Ensure work area is kept clean and safe.

On the job training is provided to acquire skill sets in various jobs. People may find a niche in one or more specific foundry operations as we do not expect you to learn all the processes.

Requirements:

Be on time and ready to work. Willingness to learn new skills.

Work Environment:

Typical manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and sand. Eye protection and hearing protection is a must.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds.

Physical capacity to properly handle tooling and molds.

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
