Job Description
We are looking for a Tool Presetter to join our growing employee-owned company. In this role, you will support our production team, ensuring and preparing tools that are ready for use based on the day’s production schedule. Our customers drive the work we do. The Tooling Pre-setter Specialist will take a hands-on role in improving the production process. He or she will coordinate tools and information for scheduled manufacturing jobs, control inventory, lead continuous improvement activities, and work with multiple departments to support the factory floor.
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of tooling to and from facilities and cleaning for used tooling
- Operate simple hand tools like i.e. screwdrivers, wrenches, etc., tool measuring devices like hand and computer system gages
- Use computer equipment to store and communicate test results and manage the billing system
- Ability to make decisions and follow general standards or procedures
- Assist the engineering team with the completion of plant failure studies
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Provide input to problem-solving on manufacturing issues as they relate to tool setup
- Operates machine shop equipment (saws, sanders, sandblaster, and polisher) on occasion and necessary
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Capable of following directions instruction sheets and working with minimal supervision
- Provide good written communication, speak clearly and articulately
- Collaborative, works well with others, exhibiting teamwork
- Capable of multitasking and focusing on detail
- Possess necessary mechanical skills, knowledge of materials, and understanding of how to use tools
- Able to stand, walk, and repeatedly lift up to 50lbs as needed for long periods
- Undergo a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations and successfully pass a drug screening
