Responsibilities & Duties: Packaging Material Handlers are responsible for timely material movement between material staging areas and Packaging Rooms.

The purpose of this position is to work with the warehouse operations team and production department to deliver and replenish Raw Materials and supplies to and from Packaging in the safest and most efficient manner within budget constraints and abiding by good manufacturing practices. PURPOSE - The purpose of this position is to work with the warehouse operations team and production department to deliver and replenish Raw Materials and Ingredients to and from Processing in the most efficient manner within budget constraints and abiding by good manufacturing practices. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - Packaging Material Handlers must ensure that correct raw materials are moved to the machine.

The material handler should verify that item # of the raw material (packaging material and WIP materials) is accurate and is part of the specific SO or production schedule. Packaging Material Handlers are responsible for ensuring that as much product as possible is recovered from a tote before changing product totes. Packaging Material Handlers are responsible for supporting other production functions not limited to trash, 5-S staging, metal detection bins, tote change-outs, recycling, General Helper breaks, etc...

as directed by Production Team Leader. Packaging Material Handlers are responsible for counting "Shop Order/Material Transfer Form," including the quantities of material being transferred from the current shop order to the new shop order. Material Handlers are responsible to move all left over materials "warehouse ready" (item #, quantity and SO#) to assigned material return area.

Packaging Material Handlers are responsible for completing Smart tag requirements (JAX.IC.W.0008) and removing finished goods pallets from production rooms and staged for warehousing. Check Production Schedule/Shop Orders to determine Packaging Room requirements. Prioritize machine needs based on start-up time of the room and direction from Production Team Leader Retrieve the required materials from staging areas outside the Packaging Room and deliver to appropriate area within production room.

Only stage the amount of packaging materials needed in the production area according to designated 5-S staging areas. Re-stock material as it used by the production machine form staging area. When component is depleted or near completion the operator or Team Lead will notify the Material Handler to replenish, return, or document transfer items.

The Material Handler will notify the material coordinator when the Shop Order is complete and collaborate to ensure all materials are either returned or transferred. Material Handler will count/measure and record the quantities being transferred on a green sticker and place it on the material. Verify and record that the proper Cups/Cupstock and Film/Lids are being used.

Verify and Inspect WIP Material Used. Verify the formula number as it appears on the tote tag and Smart Label (if available). Make sure both numbers coincide.

Compare the number on the tote tag and the Smart Label with the requirement listed on the pertaining production order (Shop Order). Ensure that formula number and description on both, Shop Order and tote tags (including Smart label) coincide. Complete form with the containers numbers, # of cases produced, shift and time of the production of the pallets.

Material Handler will notify the Machine Operator once all transfer items have been recorded on form Perform Material Returns Once the shop order is complete, remaining materials should be measured and/or counted. Film (front and back) & Cupstock - Partial rolls should be taken with issue label to the material returns area near the Material Coordinator. Cartons, Cups, Trays, Lids - These items will be manually counted to determine the quantity that will be returned back into inventory.

The quantity will be recorded onto a label that will be placed over the issued quantity on the issued label. Product Totes/Drums - Weights are determined by using the scale next to the material coordinator work area Once quantities are determined, Material Handler should notify the material coordinator that the Shop Order is complete and the items are ready to be returned. Shrink wrap top layers of finished goods pallet to secure cases, apply smart label as required following JAX.IC.W.0008 creating smart labels in WMS, and safely remove finished goods pallet from the production room and stage in designated area for warehousing.

Additional responsibilities of this position include assisting in the creation of a culture of safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor. Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position Supports the Jacksonville plant FSQ and QRMP initiatives on any and all procedures/programs pertaining to product safety.

Other duties as assigned Additional responsibilities of this position include assisting in the creation of a culture of safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor. Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES- 3 months previous experience working in a computerized warehouse environment is necessary.

Computer skills required include word processing and spreadsheet applications Packaging material Handler positions requires a fair amount of specific knowledge such as the principles of inventory control via warehouse management systems, the functionality of specialized warehouse equipment (forklift certification), and familiarity production and inventory control documentation.
