Responsibilities

  • Supervises Substation Construction foreman in their territory in framing, setting steel, installing conductors and electrical equipment for substation projects.
  • Supplies supervisor of office and field support services with information on material needs.
  • Has a good understanding of safety rules and company policies and promotes good relations with other crew members, patron cooperatives and the public.
  • Assists foreman in the interpretation of substation plans.
  • Interprets construction plans and specifications of work to be performed and inspects work to ensure compliance with these specifications and assists with bid preparations.
  • Promotes good relations with other personnel, patron cooperatives, and general public.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities common to all in managerial or supervisor positions.
  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
  • Inspects prospective job sites and participates in the development and final preparation of bids and quotations.
  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes
  • As a condition of employment, this position requires a post-offer Fitness for Duty exam, pre-employment drug test and must be able to pass DOT physical.
  • High school or GED, plus specialized training plus 6 years related experience and/or training, and 19 to 23 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License
  • Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the state of Arkansas and stay overnight as required to complete work assignments.
  • Must be able to work extra hours when necessary and report to work whenever needed during non-scheduled working periods.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and at excessive heights.
  • Must be able to read and interpret electric system key location maps.
  • Must have working knowledge of safety equipment, line tools and materials used in line construction.
  • Must have working knowledge of RUS plans and specifications, and OSHA regulations and other State and Federal safety regulations.
