Job Summary: Assists teachers in providing instruction to individual students and /or groups of students in a variety of subject areas and settings.
Hours: 3.75 Hours/Day - 181 Work Days/School Year
Schedule: 2:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
Salary Schedule Range: Range 2: $16.98 - 17.97 / Hourly Rate

Minimum Qualifications and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- AA Degree or 48 semester units or meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through an assessment, knowledge and ability to assist in instruction - (CODESP Exam). To schedule CODESP Exam please contact HR Department.
- Experience in working with groups of children desired.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and the public.
- Knowledge of basic instructional methods and techniques.
- Ability to interpret and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to work with adults and children and to respect confidential matters.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares and maintains student work areas.
- Assists in preparation of instructional materials and academic instruction to individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction and following up on specific language, spelling, reading, art and other subject activities as directed.
- Interacts and communicates respectfully with students using standard English, appropriate for academic setting.
- Administers, scores, and records assessments, and maintains student records and files as directed.
- Observes and controls behavior of students according to approved procedures; reports progress regarding student performance and behavior.
- Assures the health and safety of students by following established practices and procedures; maintains learning environment in a safe, orderly, and clean manner; sets out instructional materials.
- Operates a variety of classroom equipment, including but not limited to computers and listening centers.
- Works collaboratively with teachers and administration.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
