General Cleaner

Woodard Properties, a locally owned property management and development company in Charlottesville, is seeking two experienced General Cleaners to join our Building & Grounds Team!

The person in this role will provide exceptional cleaning services for the common areas at our residential and commercial properties located throughout the Charlottesville community and professionally clean vacant units to prepare them for the next customer.

Work hours are 8:30am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

• Common Area Cleaning: Keep common areas such as restrooms, laundry rooms, hallways, stairwells, breezeways, and covered parking areas clean and tidy.
• Unit Cleaning: Clean vacant units to restore them to move-in condition for customers so they are wowed by their first impression of their new home or commercial space.
• Supplies: Ensure all common area restrooms are well stocked with appropriate paper products and dispensers full.
• Cleaning Supplies and Equipment: Safely use cleaning equipment and supplies and replenish as needed.
• Work Vehicle: Keep the company work vehicle clean and stocked with needed supplies and equipment.
• Report: Report any concerns noted while on site to a supervisor.
• Communication: Effectively & professionally engage with customers, peers, supervisors, vendors, neighbors, or community members.

• Experience: 3+ years in a similar or relevant job.
• Track Record: Verifiable history of providing outstanding professional cleaning services.
• Skillset: Knowledgeable about cleaning products regarding effectiveness and safe handling.
• Organized: Highly organized, especially while managing heavy workloads under tight time constraints.
• Independent: Follow a set schedule for common area cleanings while providing quality and timely work.
• Flexible: Ok with being pulled off schedule to address any last minute, pop-up needs.
• Team Player: Willingness to assist in other aspects of property management from time to time, such as assisting other teams.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
• Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and acceptable background check. (No DUI or reckless convictions within the past 3 years.)
