We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our company as an Entry-Level General Accountant. As part of our team, you will support the finance department in tracking and reporting key financial information vital to our ongoing operations and success. You will accurately enter data into our secure database, analyze information trends according to departmental needs, and compile reports that senior accountants can present to decision-makers and leadership within the organization. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance. You should also have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the accounting supervisor
- Accurately perform data entry tasks in company ERP system
- Analyze data sets for relevant patterns and financial indicators
- Compile reports on organizational finances to be used by senior leadership
- Ensuring balances in the general ledger are correct and reconciled monthly.
- Preparing and processing journal entries
- SAP bank statement processing and reconciliation
- Weekly payroll journal entries and assisting with payroll issues.
- Assisting with the month end close process
- AP check runs, ACH and wire payment processing
- Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
- Assist the accounting team in day-to-day operation of the finance department
- Assist in identifying the root causes of the problem and instituting corrective action
- Help create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, and respect
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Participate in problem resolution, and communicate with other departments
- Other administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- Experience within a corporate accounting setting
- Strong computer, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Microsoft office Word and Excel skills, SAP experience preferred
