Job Summary: 

This position is a technical role reporting to the Gateway Manager and is responsible for on-site antenna gateway maintenance and repair.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair RF satellite communications antenna system electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility RF assemblies and gateway computer systems.
  • Maintain and monitor resources and Gateway RF sub-system ensuring system uptime
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the elements of the Gateway Systems and Components
  • Monitor facility elements, including power systems, HVAC, and fire suppression

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with RF satcom systems
  • Familiarity with the operation of various test instruments (Signal generators, Spectrum analyzers, DVMs)
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and mechanical assemblies
  • Ability to maintain an on-call schedule for emergency site repairs on nights and weekends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Computer networking skills

Education and Experience:

  • Electronic engineering technician, technologist, or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of electronic/RF system troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience maintaining AC and DC power systems
  • Experience installing and/or maintaining satellite or microwave equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
