Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

- Provides twenty-four-hour service to customers in specific service area on Military Base, including gas odor investigations and leak complaints, and advises customers on the proper means of connecting and venting gas appliances.
- Responsible for meter reading.
- Performs the investigation of fires, explosions and asphyxiations.
- Performs service line spots and inspections.
- Operates gas detection devices associated with Field work.
- Performs repairs as needed and able.
- Will be on site while crews perform gas repairs and pipeline maintenance.
- Communicates diplomatically with customers to promote customer satisfaction.
- Reports customer complaints appropriately.
- Properly cares for and handles all tools and work equipment used.
- Operates and maintains assigned vehicle and vehicle inventory in a neat and orderly manner. Prepares documents and reports as required by the work performed.
- On call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week for emergency response.
- Represents company at civic associations, community organizations and base events.
- Shift work is required.
- Due to Military Base contract requirements of response time, living within 30 minutes of the base is required.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
- 7-8 years directly related experience required.
- Utility line locating experience.
- Pipe Fitting or plumbing experience.
- Natural gas construction experience.
- General construction experience.
- Medium or high gas pressure experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Full knowledge of gas distribution systems.
- Basic knowledge of gas construction and regulator stations.
- Effective verbal and written communication, proficiency with computer skills (Microsoft suite), strong interpersonal skills, ability to operate heavy equipment.
- Other abilities: analytical thinking, working independently and safely, problem-solving, demonstrated critical decision-making under pressure.
- Physical attributes required to perform essential functions: lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, prolonged standing, manual dexterity, color vision, smelling and hearing.
Required degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):
High School Diploma or GED
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Must be able to obtain a CAC Card for Military Base access
Incumbents will be located in an office environment, may occasionally work at a plant site with the noted working conditions, including observing/participating in emission testing conducting from exhaust stack platforms at heights of up to 350'.
