Waverly Development is looking for an exceptional person for our Gardener/Horticulturist position. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Watering, deadheading, applying general and accepted practices for planting, pruning, fertilizing, disease/fungus control and maintenance of commercial properties
- Assist with other Landscape Maintenance duties as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to take direction from Branch Management Team and Crew Leaders, and ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all team members, clients and the general public is required
- Knowledge of annuals and perennials is preferred
- Must be comfortable working in an urban environment
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Must have reliable transportation to and from our shop in Belmont, MA and must be willing to work extended hours and weekends
Education and Experience/ Licenses:
- Valid MA Driver’s License is required
- 1+ year of landscaping experience preferred
- DOT medical card and/ or pesticide license a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand and walk long distances
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 30 pounds
Job Type: Part-time (24-30 hours/week), seasonal
Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending upon experience
