Job Overview: A Garage Door repair technician is responsible for the repair of both commercial and residential Garage Doors. This individual must be proficient in operating various power tools needed to install, repair, maintain, or replace doors. Also, they should also be able to lift heavy materials and, upon completion of the repair, ensure the Garage Door opener and all electronic components are working properly. They are responsible for documenting their work, keeping track of inventory and communicating directly with the client to ensure satisfactory customer service.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Diagnosing Garage Door problems and communicating the best options to customers.
- Repairing, and replacing commercial and residential Garage Doors and automatic Garage Door openers.
- Performing moderate to heavy physical labor in all weather conditions.
- Climbing and working on ladders.
- Using power and any additional tools needed for the job.
- Maintaining a safe work environment and, upon completion of work, ensuring the job site is clean and clear of debris.
- Providing the highest level of customer service.
- Having a professional appearance, exceptional work ethic, and strong attendance record.
- Organizing warehouse.
- Checking warehouse inventory levels and advising when reorders are needed.
- Picking up supplies/part, when necessary, from local stores (ex. Home Depot).
- Assisting with recycling at the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- A valid driver's License is required with minimal to no infractions.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A means of transportation.
- One year’s experience in installing and repairing Garage Doors preferred.
- One year customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible schedule and the ability to respond to emergency service calls.
