Application Question(s):

  • Why do you want to be a Game Master?
  • A majority of this job is performed in a monitor room watching and listening to players through the cameras. You will be working in tight quarters. Because of this, we do not hire any employees who smoke cigarettes or marijuana or anything else that smells due to the sensitivity of those smells by current staff. Please confirm you do not smoke.
  • There is no guaranteed amount of hours per week. We have slow and busy seasons. There may be weeks where you may not have any hours. In the beginning, during the training, you can expect very few hours. As you learn more games, the hours will increase. Do you have any issues with this unstable work schedule?
  • What is the minimum amount of money you must make per week to accept this job?
  • We are looking for someone who can begin training in April and May but will be available full-time during the Summer. Please indicate your normal availability and indicate if there are any specific days in April and May that you would not be available due to prior commitments.
  • We are looking for someone to work full-time for the summer. Please provide your anticipated regular availability for the summer. Please also indicate any specific dates you will need off due to planned events or commitments.
  • Due to many shifts being on-call, you must live within a 10 min drive (in traffic) to our facility (located of University and Price near 101). Do you have reliable transportation (public transportation is not considered reliable) ? Please indicate how long your commute would be and what major cross streets you will be traveling from.
  • Having played other escape rooms is a requirement. Approximately how many escape rooms have you played before? What was your favorite and least favorite rooms and why? Was there anything good or bad your Game Master did during your game?
  • The job starts at $14.35 an hour, but you are awarded bonuses for selling second games or gift cards and for google reviews. Tips from players are also quite common and can range from $2-$50 depending on the size of the group. Game Masters can take control of their paycheck based on their hard work and selling skills. Once training is complete (3-4 weeks) Game Master typically make $22-$28 per hour (includes tips and bonuses). However, due to the unstable hours, this job does not pay enough for someone who needs to be reliant on this income. Please explain why this pay structure and un-stable schedule will work best for you.
