Our Game Masters are the face of the Escapology experience. Their hard work makes it possible to provide opportunities to families, friends, and our community to make positive lasting memories. Our employee’s skill and pleasant demeanor keep customers coming back time and time again. Our employees work two roles - either Game Master or host - while providing excellent customer service. As an employee, you're also responsible for resetting immersive game rooms, facilitating the guest experience and keeping the store looking its best. Position Type: Part-Time
Average Hours: 20 hours/week
Starting Wage: $15/hour (after completing trainee phase) plus $10 bonus per customer compliment via review and commissions for rebooking sales
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be available to work Friday afternoon until midnight, Saturday noon until midnight, and Sunday noon until 8 PM (this is not a weekend-only position, but you must be available these days/times).
- Assists management in providing a premium entertainment experience to a wide range of customers, both young and old, serious or casual escapologist.
- Game master 3 rooms simultaneously while working to support the host or manager.
- Reset immersive rooms that have a multitude of clues in the exact right position within the standard time. Every time.
- Memorize the puzzles and their clues for 5 unique games, in order to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Identifies and rectifies hazards and/or equipment in need of maintenance to provide a safe environment.
- Assists management in achieving payroll goals.
- Assists customers with problems or concerns, and contacts management as appropriate regarding customers with problems or concerns.
- Provides feedback to management on all products, inventory losses, puzzle malfunctions, and general issues that could impact productivity or the customer experience.
- Processes customer purchases, performs general cleaning duties, and stocks merchandise.
- Participates in taking store inventory counts according to guidelines.
- Complies with all established company policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader.
- Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
- Work using a computer

- Provides prompt and courteous customer service.
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to operate equipment, reset complex escape rooms in under 5-7 minutes, operate Game Master software system, and multitask.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving.
- Ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
- Ability to climb 3-foot ladder
Escapology is a high adrenaline escape game where players are locked inside a themed room and must complete their mission before time runs out. During the 60-minute experience players are immersed into a real-life adventure where they must find hidden clues, crack codes, solve challenging puzzles and escape!
