What you will be doing
Responsible for interacting with general public patrons to provide information on activities, programming, rules, and to encourage individual/caregiver participation.
You will be responsible for…
- Customer service, including museum admissions.
- Maintaining computer records.
- Coordinating with education staff to orientate children in groups.
- Greeting buses.
- Interacting with volunteers and the public to provide general information on activities and events in the museum.
- Assist security on the museum floor.
- Ensure the safety of the general public.
- Assist with the set-up, implementation, and clean-up of special events and special assignments, as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
What skills & experience you will bring to us
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Experience working in museums, community or cultural organizations, or other relevant settings leading tours, facilitating programs or public speaking preferred.
- Experience working with a range of ages in school or community setting.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook, plus social media.
- Must be highly organized, strong attention to detail, conscientious, and efficient, with an ability to handle multiple tasks accurately under deadline pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, professional maturity, adaptability and self-reliance.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time.
