Posting Summary:
The department of Biobehavioral Sciences is seeking Lab and program work-study students for motor learning, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Neuroscience and Education. The student must be eligible for federal work-study funding (approved via the Teachers College Office of Financial Aid). The chosen work-study will provide support on general tasks in support of various program and lab functions and projects. This position requires a commitment of a minimum of 10 hours a week throughout the academic year.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The work-study for Biobehavioral Sciences will have numerous responsibilities but primarily focused on lab work and basic level administrative tasks and contributing to special projects under the direction of their lab supervisor. Other minor and major related responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Support general office functions
Contribute to and support with special projects
Assist with the planning and execution of programs within the lab and program
Assist with website maintenance, communications, and database management
Assist with communications and office support, including answering phones, emails and participant inquiries.
*Only U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens are eligible for this position.
This position is not eligible for tuition credits.

Scheduling
Student work schedules are based upon the needs of the department and the student's academic schedule. Students should discuss their schedule with the hiring manager/supervisor during the interview process. Hiring managers/supervisors will make every attempt to accommodate students' needs.
Work Limitations
During the academic year students may not hold appointments or any combination of appointments totaling more than 27 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have been awarded federal work-study for the term in which a work-study position is being sought
- Must be a TC student currently enrolled in a degree program and taking at least 5 credits
- Must be able to abide by Teachers College academic and personnel policies and guidelines, including FERPA, Student Confidentiality Agreement and the Student Privacy Requirements
Additional qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and other task tracking systems
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong computer, research and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to complete assigned projects with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum commitment of two semesters
- Proficiency with statistics programs like: SPSS, R, Rstudio
- Familiarity with inventory collection
- Familiarity with Dropbox
Salary Range:
2000 ($18/hour)
