Job Overview
The Furnace Operator produces gas atomized powders, at the correct size, and quality necessary to achieve world class coating and printing products.
Requirements
- Reads, understands and uses Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMI’s), Job-Safety Analysis’ (JSA), and melt production schedule to accomplish daily production tasks
- Safely operates atomization equipment (i.e. Atomizer, blenders, vacuum equipment, power cabinet, overhead crane, forklift, etc.)
- Performs basic math including percentages to calculate and weigh out materials
- Repairs and cleans furnaces
- Tracks data and updates charts for the department
- Performs simple, in-process quality tests to determine material status
- Uses database management tools such as Oracle, eAM, etc.

Qualifications - External
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2+ years’ manufacturing experience required
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
- Ability to subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure required
- Crane operator/Forklift experience preferred
- Capable of lifting to 40lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing
