Funeral Director/Embalmer

We are looking for a licensed funeral director and embalmer to join our multi-branch team in Wellington and Wichita . Duties include conducting arrangements both in person and online, embalming, scheduling services, and being able to perform transfer/removals. The ideal candidate should posses empathy and kindness, have a willingness to educate consumers on their options, be able to simultaneously coordinate multiple cases, and have standard computer skills to operate case management software. If you have previous experience in the funeral profession, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, a successful hire will already know the basics of our profession, be able to quickly and competently learn our methods and procedures, and serve offer our families the kindness, respect, patience and knowledge they deserve.

Responsibilities:

• Independently conduct arrangement conference in person and online
• Coordinate ceremonies and burials with local churches and cemeteries
• Embalm, provide restoration services, and present decedents
• Answer phones (during business hours) for multiple locations
• Perform removals and transfers during weeknights. A weekend team is available.
• Provide administrative support to ensure efficient case management and legal filings
• Orders supplies and merchandise from vendors

Requirements:

• Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Kansas
• Completion of your apprenticeship
• Proficient in Windows Office systems and Google Suites
• Strong phone skills with a focus on active listening and a willingness to educate callers

Nice to Have (but not required):

• Previous management experience
• Familiarity with existing funeral industry technology
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Passion for personal and professional development through continuing education
• Special consideration given to Licensed Crematory Operators (not required)
