Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director to join our team. As a Funeral Director, you will be responsible for assisting families in planning and arranging funeral services for their loved ones. This is a rewarding role that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to provide support during difficult times.
Responsibilities
- Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and provide guidance and support
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services
- Prepare the deceased for burial or cremation, including dressing, cosmetology, and casketing
- Arrange for the purchase of caskets, urns, and other funeral merchandise
- Assist with the selection of appropriate memorial services and products
- Coordinate with clergy, cemetery personnel, and other service providers to ensure smooth execution of funeral services
- Provide bereavement support to grieving families
- Manage administrative tasks such as filing death certificates and obtaining necessary permits
Requirements
- On call rotation, phones only
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology is essential for handling deceased individuals with care and respect.
- Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and move heavy objects such as caskets or equipment.
- Cosmetology: Knowledge of cosmetology techniques to prepare the deceased for viewing.
- Sales skills: Ability to effectively communicate funeral service options and merchandise to families.
- Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide compassionate support to grieving families.
- Event planning: Experience in organizing and coordinating events such as memorial services.
- Sanitation: Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Bereavement support: Ability to offer emotional support and guidance to individuals experiencing loss.
