Your Role:

The Fundraising Specialist is responsible for supporting the membership fundraising team in identifying, converting, and stewarding individual donors with potential for giving at lower and mid-levels for MPR|APM’s programs and podcasts. As part of the membership team, this role will assist in the creation of strategies used to engage, acquire, cultivate, retain and steward, and upgrade donors, including in-show promotions, email, e-newsletters, web-based promotions, web forms, mobile donations, events, social media, crowdfunding and other digital media, and direct mail.

Expected Compensation Range: $54,500 - $67,000/yr. Exact salary determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Position Responsibility:

  • Together with the membership team and under the direction of the Sr. Manager, National Fundraising, execute fundraising tactics to meet or exceed revenue and contributor goals for the team’s budget. Tactics include, but are not limited to, in-show promotions, email, e-newsletters, web-based promotions, social media, crowdfunding and other digital media.
  • Execute fundraising tactics to engage listeners and drive donor/revenue growth for new programs and podcasts.
  • Coordinate and support creation of bonus content, experiences, and other incentives to build community and engage listeners in giving.
  • Coordinate and develop written and visual material to support fundraising strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to support fundraising goals.
  • Develop and manage thank-you gifts and other recognition and stewardship opportunities for members.
  • Develop online giving forms and thank-you gift catalogs using Springboard platform.
  • Support and execute event opportunities including virtual fundraising, cultivation, and appreciation events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of communications, fundraising, marketing, or other relevant experience
  • Copy development experience and excellent writing skills.

  • Organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Computer skills and the ability to learn software applications as needed
  • Interest in supporting the mission and values of MPR/APM

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to manage some work outside of standard office hours as needed.
  • Physical demands:
    • Required to move about in an office environment and sit for extended periods of time
    • Required to move about in the community
    • Frequent use of hands for data entry/keystrokes and simple grasping
  • Working conditions:
    • Moderate noise level
    • Occasional exposure to prevalent weather conditions
