The Fundraising Coordinator at Cooley Dickinson Hospital plays an integral role in both current and future fundraising initiatives and campaigns, including capital, annual, programmatic and legacy campaigns. Collaborating closely with the Development Team, this position encompasses managing administrative and operational tasks, aiding annual, planned, major, and transformative giving efforts, and offering both technical and strategic support throughout the donor life-cycle. This role is responsible for providing timely and accurate quantitative and qualitative data and material handling, overseeing CRM activities, and preparing reports and presentations.

The Fundraising Coordinator embraces the department's mission to raise philanthropic funds for Cooley Dickinson Hospital and Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice.

This position reports to the Director of Planned Giving and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports the annual and planned giving direct mail programs, including completes all database extraction end user written requests.
  • Prepares and analyzes donor giving metric reports for both the Cooley Dickinson Hospital and the Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice, including monthly fundraising achievement and status reports on specific fundraising appeals and other analytical and pertinent reports.
  • Codes constituent records to maintain biographical data, solicitation preferences and relationships with organization.
  • Supports the donor relations/stewardship program, including completes all written data extraction requests for communications, events, various donor rolls, donor plaques and recognition walls.
  • Codes constituent records in fundraising database to support event management needs such as event invitation invitees, event RSVPs, a constituent's events preferences, as well as recording of incurred expenses of a revenue-generating event management.
  • Reviews fundraising database Prospect Fundraising Plans to ensure accurate records are maintained for major and planned gifts and assists with manual data entry on planned giving fundraising plans and planned gift records management.
  • Ensures department daily mail is received; serves as back-up in the daily record keeping of the department Gift Log. Serves as back-up in bills processing and requisitions.
  • Serves as a liaison to CDH community benefit events.
  • Serves as back-up in answering department telephone; takes messages, refers calls, returns calls to provide information.
  • Provides limited administrative support as needed to prospect research, annual Golf Tournament, and major/campaign staff.
  • Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures objectives, confidentiality, quality improvement program, safety, compliance, and environmental standards.
  • Supports other activities of the development staff as needed.

 

        High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

        Two years relevant work experience in development, a non-profit, analytical, and/or marketing role.

        Proven strength in analytical thinking necessary.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions required.

        Ability to prioritize, plan, communicate and perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively are necessary along with the ability to work independently, to work under supervision, and to work in a team-based and goal-oriented environment.

        Database management experience required, Blackbaud CRM preferred.  Working knowledge with on-line research and on-line charitable giving platforms preferred.

        Skilled with the PC and Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

        Personable, able to relate well with a diverse public.  Ability to effectively communicate with employees, donors, and other diverse constituencies, both internal and external to Cooley Dickinson, in a courteous and professional manner.

        Resourceful self-starter with superior follow-through and ability to meet deadlines

        Exceptional attention to detail, a demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively and manage several projects simultaneously required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; organizational and interpersonal skills required.

        Sound reasoning skills and good judgment.  Ability to maintain confidentiality and maturity and discretion in handing sensitive information.
