FUNDRAISING AND SPECIAL EVENTS ASSISTANT

Location: Westbury, NY

Position: Full time
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (in-office)
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Development, the Development Assistant provides administrative support for members of the Development Department to ensure successful fundraising efforts. This includes assisting and participating in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, soliciting sponsorships and gifts, direct mail appeals, SPECIAL EVENTS, grant inquiries and assisting with other functions of the Development Department to raise funds and awareness for the organization. The position is a forward-facing role with communication and customer service skills.

We require:

• Bachelors’ Degree preferred
• Two years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office
• Strong organizational, computer, written, and verbal communication skills, required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience using CRM and general office equipment
• Flexibility with work hours. Day, evening, or weekend hours may be required
• Comfortable with a variety of social media platforms
