Job description

Functional 508 Tester
Key Role:
Work in tandem with the software development team to analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities. Translate detailed design into application systems. Test, debug, and refine applications to produce the required product. Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation. Enhance applications to improve performance and add functionality. Provide technical direction to engineers to ensure program deadlines are met. Use automation tools and techniques to achieve these objectives.
Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineer or tester
  • 2+ years of experience with the creation of test cases, test suites, requirements matrices, and end-of-test reports
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and with application lifecycle management (ALM)
  • Experience with 508 compliance review
  • Experience with analyzing and documenting software test results
  • Experience with designing, implementing, tailoring, and documenting automated test frameworks used on testing projects
  • Ability to support efforts to test the solution for accessibility and usability compliance
  • Ability to assist with the development of overall test plan and test artifacts, identify records, help manage defects to resolution, and identify and communicate any testing issues or risks to developer and test lead
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with Agile SDLC
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and with application lifecycle management (ALM)
  • Ability to create a process for identifying potential compliance issues and documenting issues in user stories for prioritization by the client for resolution and pro-active testing for Section 508 compliance for functionality available to end-users
  • Ability to create 508 test artifacts
  • Ability to manage discrepancies identified during testing and collaborate with the software development team to resolve software bugs
  • Ability to set testing schedules and provide progress or status to project management and client stakeholders
  • Ability to assists with the development of overall test plan and other test artifacts
  • Ability to identify and communicates any testing issues or risks to Developer and Test Lead
  • Ability to support efforts to test the solution for accessibility and usability compliance
  • Ability to identify developer guidelines to support Section 508 and prevent usability problems, create a process for identifying potential compliance issues and documenting issues in user stories for prioritization by the client for resolution and pro-active testing for Section 508 compliance for functionality available to end-users

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
