Fulltime/Part Time Grocery Store Cashier

Overview:

Earl's Cajun Market, locally owned and operated for over 40 years. We are looking for cashier's to join our team. Store hours are Sunday thru Saturday 7:00 am to 7:pm. Available shifts are 11:00 am to 7:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm and includes working alternating weekends. Individual must be well groomed, have reliable transportation and report to work on time as scheduled. Do not submit your application if you are one to miss work frequently.

Cashiers will manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. To succeed in this role you should have good knowledge of how to operate cash registers, receive payments and issue receipts, provide excellent customer service skills, ability to count down register at the end of a shift, stock and front shelves, load soft drink and beer coolers, maintain a clean store.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Transactions with customers using cash registers
• Scan Goods and ensure pricing is accurate
• Collect payments of cash and credit
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
• Cross Sell products and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Greet customers when entering and leaving the store
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Must have up to date bar card for the Parish and State
• Check ID's when selling liquor
• Follow rules set forth by the employer

Requirement and Skills:

• Work Experience as a Retail Cashier
• Basic knowledge of operating a Computer/Register
• Familiar with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
• Good Math Skills
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Customer satisfaction oriented.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
