Celebrate Therapy is a mental health practice that was established in 2021 to provide quality therapeutic services to the LGBTQIA+ community in Utah county. Celebrate Therapy is the first clinic in Provo, Utah, and the surrounding area, owned and run by a team of queer clinicians. Over the years, we have grown and extended our services to Salt Lake county. Our mission is centered around empowering clients to embrace their own queerness with newfound confidence, while also fostering understanding and support among family members who seek to support their LGBTQIA+ loved ones. We are dedicated to creating a safe and affirming environment where all individuals can explore their identities and achieve personal growth and fulfillment. We are paneled with a variety of insurance companies, in an effort to provide greater access to mental health care services to clients.
About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated intern to join our team for their internship/externship and provide essential therapy services to clients in the LGBTQIA+ community, with a focus on religiously conservative communities and intersectionality marginalized identities. Under the guidance of the Clinical Director and a Clinical Supervisor, this role delivers individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy services in alignment with established standards of care.
Job Type: Full-time, flexible scheduling if desired
Work Location: Remote, hybrid, or in-person at Salt Lake City location
Reports to: Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor
Pay: Variable
Responsibilities:
- Participate in regular clinical supervision under a designated clinical supervisor.
- Actively participate in case consultation, group supervision, and multi-disciplinary weekly meetings.
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments for each assigned client, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Foster client engagement and collaboration in the development of personalized treatment plans.
- Handle crisis situations with sensitivity and proficiency, facilitating hospitalization when necessary.
- Utilize validated tools to measure treatment needs, monitor progress, and evaluate treatment outcomes.
- Assist clients in identifying and assessing available resources to support their well-being.
- Provide timely referrals and diligently monitor client progress.
- Serve as an effective advocate for clients, promoting their rights and interests.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress towards established treatment goals and objectives.
- Periodically reassess client needs in accordance with standards of care and policies.
- Coordinate client transfers to a higher level of care or discharge, as appropriate.
- Collaborate efficiently with other disciplines and leadership to address client needs and treatment objectives.
- Ensure that progress notes are accessible in a timely manner and consider possible accessibility to patients, third-party payers, accreditation entities, and courts of laws.
Qualifications
- Current MSW/MFT/CMHC/Counseling Psych graduate student, working towards licensure. Clinical supervision is provided through Celebrate Therapy.
- Have specific interest or experience in working with the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, being especially empathetic and skilled in building rapport with diverse clients.
- Familiarity with ethical principles and legal guidelines in mental health practice and in working with LGBTQIA+ clients.
