Pearl IVF, part of the RMA Network of top fertility practices in the United States is seeking aRegistered Nurse (RN)to join our growing team inSan Diego, CA. RN's duties include, but are not limited to: patient treatment consults, phone triage & clinical patient questions. The individual cross trains to assist on the surgical center side of the practice as well. This position is full-time, some early evenings, weekends and holidays are required.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to physicians’ effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; provide information and commentary pertinent to patient care plan; recommend possible options and courses of action as appropriate; implement physician orders.
- Coordinate care for assigned patients following the required RMA protocols and procedures, including the appropriate workflow chart processes and performance benchmarks
- Document patient care services in EMR system
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients; comfort patients by anticipating their anxieties and answering questions and concerns
- Resolve patient problems and concerns by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
- Patient education in regard to treatment plan and medications through e-learning and other patient education available
- Follow up with patients regarding laboratory values and semen analysis results
- Assist physician with in-office procedures as needed
- Maintain a cooperative and productive working relationship intra-departmentally as well as inter-departmentally
- Egg retrievals
- Embryo transfers
- Gynecologic surgery
- BSN Degree strongly preferred; active RN license without limitations required
- Strong clinical skills and a minimum of 2 years' clinical experience is required; prior experience in post-surgical, operating room, urology or intensive care healthcare preferred
- BCLS and ACLS required
- High energy, excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrated self-directed work ethic are required
- Excellent listening/counseling/interpersonal, and communications skills required to manage sensitive patient situation properly
- Resourceful and well organized; committed to detail and follow-up
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgment and remain composed under stress
- Must be available for weekend rotation and some holidays
